SCPSC Board of Directors
The Pickering Skating Club is a not-for-profit organization and runs entirely on the commitment of it’s members, parents, and volunteers in accordance to the SCPSC Constitution and By-laws.
The Directors are elected at the Annual General Meeting and serve for a period of 2 years. The Directors and Coaches’ representatives meet monthly throughout the year. All club members are encourage to attend the AGM.
The President, 2nd Vice-President, Treasurer, Test, Membership, Publicity and Senior Representative shall be elected at the Annual General Meeting in even calendar years and the 1st Vice-President, Secretary, Competition, Skater Development, Social shall be elected at the Annual General Meeting in odd calendar years
President – VACANT
Club President is responsible for scheduling, setting the agenda, and attending monthly board meetings. The Club President ensures the code of conduct is upheld by all members, as well as managing the relationships and bookings of ice with the City of Pickering.
1st Vice President – Shadia Sulaiman
1st Vice President is responsible to attend monthly board meetings and for executing and managing professional coach contracts.
2nd Vice President – Neil Senior
Test Chair person is responsible to attend monthly board meetings and manages all fund raising for the club.
Treasurer – VACANT
The Treasurer is responsible to attend monthly board meetings, and provide financial updates. Treasure is responsible for monthly bookkeeping, paying club expenses, signing cheques, and arranging for annual financial audit.
Secretary – Linda Donnelly
Club Secretary is responsible to attend monthly board meetings, capture & share those meeting minutes, and update the minutes book. The secretary also checks the club post office box, and holds and maintains records for the club office keys.
Membership Chair – Perpetual Pereira
The Membership Chairs responsible to attend monthly board meetings, and for ensuring every skater is registered and updated with Skate Canada through their membership website.
Senior Representative – Natalie Jandrisits
Senior Representative is responsible to attend monthly board meetings. The role also manages ticket ice bookings.
Publicity Chair – VACANT
The Publicity Chair is responsible to attend monthly board meetings, and for co-managing club email account. Through out the season, updates are made to club website and social media accounts. From time to time ads are create and published with local measure guides and advertisers.
Test & Competition/Skater Development – Lisa Honeyford
Test Chair person is responsible to attend monthly board meetings and arranging for high test days with Skate Canada. Test Chair coordinates test registration & schedules, as well as reporting results to Skate Canada. As Skater Development Chair, he/she is responsible to attend monthly board meetings, and manage Canskate Program Assistants training and scheduling.
Social/Hospitality Chair – Jennifer Schlee
The club Social or Hospitality Chair is responsible to attend monthly board meetings. During club meetings, test days, competitions, mini olympics, PA sessions, ect., refreshments are arranged by the person in this role.
Coaching Representative – Nicole Britain
Club Coaching Representive is responsible to attend monthly board meetings and represents all club coaches. The Coaching Representative is responsible for arranging communication from the board to club coaches following monthly board meetings.
