2018 Ice Show - Learn to Skate

2018 Ice Show

The Pickering Skating Club is happy to announce it will be hosting its 2018, biennial, ice show on April 14th, 2018. This years show will deliver dual theme including the “Princess Ball” and “Adventures at the Museum.” If you have not yet experienced this local event, let us provide a brief overview.

This show is professionally produced with well over 100 local skaters ranging from provincial competitors to tiny beginners. Professional lighting as well as audio and video technology is brought in to ensure an incredible experience for both skaters and spectators. Each skater will be in full costume that showcases their role in the performance.

The Ice Show provides three primary benefits including  giving the Community of Durham an affordable entertainment opportunity,  providing SCPSC skaters an opportunity to showcase their talents and generating needed funds for the continuation and growth of SCPSC programs.

To produce a show of this caliber, with rented costumes, ice fees for rehearsals and performances, and lighting and audio/visual technology, our costs are typically around $30,000. To keep the cost to our skaters to a minimum, we appreciate sponsors!

The Ice Show Committee is also in need of volunteers in the following areas – Costume Alterations, Admission Booth, Dressing Room Attendants, Lighting, Scenery/Props, Security, etc.. Volunteer hours will be credited to club obligations for parents and skaters. Students will acquire volunteer hours for high school.

SCPSC has scheduled two shows, the first at 1:00 pm and the second at 7:00 pm. Ticket price ranges from $10 to $20 per seat and can be purchased at the SCPSC office in the Delaney Rink, or by clicking here to email the Ice Show Committee.
