2015 Pickering Skating Club Spring Gala

The Pickering Skating Club held its 2015 Skating Gala on Saturday April 11. While summer songs like “Good Vibrations” and “Hot, Hot, Hot” filled the arena, the skaters dazzled the audience with their outstanding performances.

As customary at the end of every skating season, the club recognizes members who have demonstrated passion, devoted themselves to supporting the club and achieved extraordinary results. The Pickering Skating Club is proud to recognize the following members and coaches:

Skating Club Program Assistant of the Year Award – Brooke Farrell

Retiring Program Assistant – Amy Wu

CanSkater of the Year – Ida

CanSkater Champion – Owen

CanSkater Champion – Sylvia

STARSkate Athlete Award – Natalia Savor

Coach of the Year – Arline Killam

The Pickering Skating Club also handed out its annual John Benton Awards. John Benton was the founder and past president of the Pickering Skating Club. Mr. Benton donated the trophies and established the criteria for the calculation of the John Benton Awards. Six plaques are presented annually to members of the club for achievements in two categories; Skate Testing and Skate Competition. The Pickering Skating club is proud to present the John Benton Awards to this year’s winners:
